Every big journey starts with a single step—and today, we’re excited to share ours with you. Next year, my colleague Kairit and I will be taking on the Oslo Half Marathon, not just as a personal challenge, but as a way to give back. Together, we’re running to raise funds for the Norsk Kreftforening (Norwegian Cancer Society), an organisation close to so many hearts.

This isn’t just about crossing a finish line—it’s about using our profession and passion to inspire healthier living, resilience, and community support.

Why We’re Doing This

Like many of our patients, both Kairit and I know what it means to train around health challenges. Injuries, old aches, and the ups and downs of daily life can make consistency difficult. But that’s exactly why we’re sharing this openly—because we believe in building fitness sustainably, with honesty and balance.

While we have to wait before signing as this years marathon hasn’t been run yet, by committing to this half marathon publicly, we’re not only holding ourselves accountable and pushing our own limits, but also creating space to share knowledge, tips, and motivation with you along the way.

What to Expect from Us

From now until race day, our clinic’s channels will become a behind-the-scenes training journal, the clinic channels will be in norwegian though, so for those of you not in Norway I will documenting everything here as it happens be.

You can follow along as we:

  • Document the ups and downs of training—the good runs, the tough days, and everything in between.
  • Share expert rehab and recovery strategies that keep us moving, despite old injuries and everyday wear and tear. We are both in our 30s so expect plenty of this!
  • Explore nutrition, motivation, and mental resilience—because running is just as much a head game as a physical one.
  • I, myself, have my own “side quest”: training for Masters-level swimming, with the goal of competing in the Norwegian Masters Championships in approximately six months. (Yes, there will be goggles and sore shoulders involved!)

Why Follow Along?

We’re not elite athletes (At least, not anymore, in my case). We’re two people balancing full-time work, health challenges, and daily life—just like many of you. That’s why this journey matters: it’s real, relatable, and rooted in the idea that progress is possible at any stage.

By following along, you’ll get:

  • Honest insights into training while working full time.
  • Tips from chiropractors and rehab professionals that you can use in your own fitness routines.
  • A reminder that big goals don’t happen overnight, but through consistency, patience, and the support of a community.

Join Us on the Road to the Finish Line

We’ll be posting regular updates here on the blog and across our social media channels. From Motivation Mondays to Therapy Tuesdays, from sweaty training Thursdays (Løpeløftet!) to behind-the-scenes Fridays, you’ll see the whole process unfold.

We’d love for you to follow along, cheer us on, and maybe even lace up your own shoes for a run. Together, let’s make every step count—not just for us, but for the Norwegian Cancer Society and everyone their work touches.

The First Step of Many

The shoes are laced up, the fundraiser is live, and the journey has begun. Stay tuned—this is only the beginning!
